Aspiring Flight Attendants Logon to AirlineCareer.com in Record Numbers

HARVARD, MA (March 5, 2001) - AirlineCareer.com, an innovative online resource for aspiring flight attendants, saw explosive growth in Q1 2001, as its member base grew to over 5,250, attracting subscribers from 50 states and 11 countries. Launched in August 2000, the privately held company helps people of all ages and backgrounds evaluate, pursue, and maintain successful flight attendant careers in the United States. Although the site is primarily fee-based, it does offer a number of free resources, including an online pre-qualification test, original feature stories, and a bi-weekly electronic newsletter.

"Through 2005, a flight attendant career is going to be one of the fastest-growing occupations in the United States," said Joseph Belotti, co-Founder of AirlineCareer.com and a Captain for US Airways. "There's a lot of competition for these jobs, and our staff is dedicated to educating every member on the specifics of the career and what he or she has to do to get hired."

The web site's staff prides itself in having the most up-to-date information, from the latest pay scales to the most current interview questions and strategies for every major airline. An interactive message board supplements 17 sections of content, allowing members to share information and experiences with each other. The message board is staffed by working flight attendants, who answer all members' questions within 48 hours. There's also a 250-word dictionary so members can build their flight attendant vocabulary.

According to Belotti, the web site was built using a two-step model. Members are encouraged to first read through the materials in the Evaluation Center. The Evaluation Center helps aspiring flight attendants find out how much they can earn, how long and how often they will have to work, where they will have to live, what their duties & responsibilities will be, and what benefits they will likely receive. Once they determine, with at least some measure of confidence, that a flight attendant career is suitable for them, they proceed to the Application Center. The Application Center helps members choose the right airlines, prepare their resumes, fill out the applications, and prepare for and master the interviews.
