The Position With reporting dates planned for April 2009, you’ll be based at our Client’s premises on the South Coast of England just 10 miles (16km) inland from the famous sea-side town of Brighton. These are 100% non-flying jobs. The main function of these roles is to provide ground and flight simulator training for the new Embraer Phenom and other Business Jets, where appropriate. Our Client will fully train you on the simulator(s) which you will work on, so you don’t need any previous experience on type – or as an Instructor. Working hours tend to be variable depending on the phase of training; some days will be relatively short whilst others may be longer. Our Client’s Team enjoy a ‘good vibe’ and are close knit. The positions are mainly offered as full-time permanent; however our Client is also interested in receiving applications from Candidates who would prefer to work on part-time basis, eg 10 days per month. In addition to their other skills/experience requirements, our Client will only consider applications from Candidates who DO have: · An EU passport · At least 30 hours multi engine piston Captain time Full training will be given for these 100% non-flying jobs, so you DO NOT need: · Any flight experience on the Embraer Phenom, or any other Business Jet · To have worked as an Instructor before

Outline Package · Pension – Client and you make contributions (6% and 3% each) · Share Options will become available to you · Life Assurance: 3 x annual salary · Holidays: 25 days plus 8 public holidays per year · Roster: 5 days at work, 1 on stand-by, 2 off. Roster swaps with colleagues should be possible, once the full team is in place and, using the 8 day system, everyone takes their turn at weekend work. · Facilities at our Client’s premises include a discounted staff cafeteria; desk share in the open-plan office; a private locker and a company mobile phone. You will be issued with a security pass but DO NOT need security clearance
Key Responsibilities will include · Providing training in accordance with our Client’s guidelines, the training syllabus and the authorizing regulatory authority. · Ensuring all training is completed using either the Company, or their Client’s, procedures. · Training Clients to the standard required and following defined procedures when a Trainee is unable to meet the standard. · Completing the Journey Log after use of a training device. · Ensuring all defects are recorded in the Defects Log. · Providing assistance to the Head of Training in the development of new programmes or courseware.
Who will our Client hire? · You must have the right to live and work within the EU. · You DO NOT have to have previous experience either as an Instructor or Pilot on any Business Jet. · To become a TRE you will need a JAA ATPL. Our Client will support your application for a JAA licence if you do not already hold one. · Our Client requires that you hold (at least) a frozen ATPL, with some jet aircraft flight experience and that you meet the overall level of experience needed to qualify as a Synthetic Flight Instructor (SFI) under JAR regulations. · You MUST have flown 1,000 hours total time, with a minimum of 30 hours multi engine piston time, as a Captain. · Candidates who have a background from within Scheduled Airlines, the Military and/or Business Aviation are of particular interest to our Client. · The job needs you to be a logical thinker and an excellent problem solver, with the ability to make your lessons and presentations interesting and enjoyable. · You should have excellent inter-personal skills and will need above average communication skills (written & spoken). · You will have computer skills (especially PowerPoint which is used in the classroom) and knowledge of internet applications · The Team work very well together so, most importantly, they want you to be professional, logical and committed – working with them is more about who you are as a person, than your career progression and experience to date.

Selection/Interview Process The Betts Team review, shortlist and recommend Candidates to our Client - based on your CV, the QSF and a first Telephone Interview (TI).
